"The school council has a strong voice and pupils are trained as anti-bullying ambassadors."
Ofsted
At Bure Valley, we believe in empowering our pupils to be active participants in shaping the life of our school community. Our pupil-led school council is a vital part of this, giving our children a voice and the opportunity to make a real difference.
Representing Our Classes
The school council is made up of children from every class who have been elected by their classmates to represent them. These school councillors act as the voice of their peers, seeking opinions and ideas to discuss and resolve at our regular council meetings.
Organising Projects and Fundraising
Working closely with our dedicated fundraising team, our school council looks to raise money for chosen charities and good causes. They take the lead in planning and executing various projects and events, giving them valuable experience in teamwork, leadership, and community engagement.
Upholding Our Co-operative Values
Our school council's work is underpinned by the co-operative values that are at the heart of our school. Through their efforts, they demonstrate our commitment to "Care, Creativity & Challenge", promoting a positive, nurturing, and respectful school culture.
Getting Involved
We encourage all our pupils to engage with the school council, whether by sharing their ideas with their class representatives or by participating in the council's initiatives. By working together, we can ensure that Bure Valley continues to be a place where every child's voice is heard and their potential is nurtured.
